If a cycle somewhere else did not work
You have already been through a great deal. Before we talk about what happens next, we read everything that has happened so far.
A cycle that does not work is not only a medical disappointment. It is months of appointments, a significant amount of money, and a hope you had allowed yourself to hold.
Please take whatever time you need before deciding anything. When you are ready, there is usually more to understand about what happened than you were told on the day.
What one unsuccessful cycle does and does not mean
“One cycle that did not work does not mean the end of the road. It may mean the plan was not the right one. We read your previous reports before we form a view.”
We will not tell you why your last cycle did not work before we have read your reports. Nobody can, and anyone who does is guessing.
Send us your reports before you come
This is the one thing we ask you to do differently from a normal first appointment.
Please send or bring your previous records before your consultation rather than on the day, so that your doctor has already read them by the time you sit down. It means your appointment is spent discussing what it means, rather than reading in front of you.
What is useful to send
- Your previous clinic's treatment summary or discharge notes
- Scan reports and blood test results
- Semen analysis reports
- Details of the medicines used and their doses, if you have them
- Anything you were told about why the cycle did not continue
If you do not have all of it, come anyway. Bring what you have.

A second opinion at Angels is a full review, not a second glance.
- Your full medical and fertility history, and your partner's
- The reports from your previous centre, read before your appointment
- The factors that may have affected the previous cycle
- What was tried, at what dose, and what happened
- A plan built for your situation, and the reasoning behind it explained to you
You will be told what the options are and why one is being suggested over another. If something is not clear, ask again. Nobody here minds being asked twice.
We look at both partners
Fertility is not only a woman's question. At Angels we investigate both partners from the first visit, and semen analysis is the first test for the male partner.
If your previous treatment focused on one of you, that is worth revisiting.
Please come to your appointment together. We need you both there.
Will it work this time?
It is the question you arrive with, and we will not pretend there is a number that answers it.

Any centre quoting you a percentage before reading your reports is quoting you an average, not an answer about you.
A second opinion costs you nothing
If this is your first visit to Angels, your consultation and your scan are free, whatever brings you here. That includes coming for a second opinion after treatment somewhere else.
You are not committing to treatment with us by coming in. You are asking someone to read your reports properly and tell you what they see.
After you have seen the doctor, you meet our advisor, who explains the treatment and the full cost before you decide anything.
We do not run discount offers. The price we quote you is the price you pay.
Nobody here will rush you
You have already made one large decision under pressure. You will not be asked to make another.
Take the report review, go home, and think about it for as long as you need. If you decide to go elsewhere, or to stop for a while, that is a legitimate answer and nobody here will chase you about it.
