Angels Fertility

Procedures at the centre

Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy

Both procedures are carried out here at Angels, rather than referred out to another hospital. If one of them is advised for you, the doctor will explain why before anything is arranged.

Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are performed at the centre.

What each one is

A doctor explaining hysteroscopy to a patient, holding the hysteroscope with a model of the uterus on the desk

Hysteroscopy

A hysteroscopy allows the doctor to look directly inside the uterus using a thin telescope passed through the cervix, so that the inside of the uterus can be seen rather than inferred from a scan.

Hysteroscopy is performed at the centre by Dr Pranita O Somani.

Laparoscopy

A laparoscopy allows the doctor to look at the uterus, the fallopian tubes and the ovaries from the outside, through a small telescope passed into the abdomen. Both diagnostic and operative laparoscopy are carried out at the centre.

Laparoscopy is carried out at the centre by visiting surgeons.

You will know what is happening, and what it costs

If a procedure is advised, the doctor will explain why. We will tell you what your treatment will cost before you begin it.

Nobody will rush you. You will have the time to ask every question you have.

What happens at your first visitThe three steps of treatment

What your procedure involves

Every case is different. Your doctor goes through what your treatment involves, and the risks that apply to you, during your consultation and again before treatment begins.

Start with a consultation

Neither procedure is arranged without a consultation first. Your first consultation is with Dr Pranita, who reviews your full history before recommending anything.
