IVF and test tube baby treatment at Angels
Test tube baby is the everyday name for IVF. It is the same treatment, and at Angels it is the third step, not the first one. This page sets out what it involves here, who performs it, and how the cost is explained to you before you decide anything.
Where IVF sits in our treatment
Not everyone needs IVF. At Angels we start with the simplest treatment that can work for you, and we move to the next step only when there is a clinical reason to.
Ovulation stimulation with timed intercourse
The first step for many couples. The ovaries are stimulated, ovulation is monitored, and you are advised on timing.
IUI
Stimulation and monitoring, then prepared sperm placed directly into the uterus.
IVF with ICSI
Stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilisation in our own laboratory with ICSI, then embryo transfer. This is the page you are on.
Which step is right for you is a clinical decision, and it is made after your evaluation, not before it. Evaluation comes first, then the decision.
How the three steps workWho performs your treatment
Your first consultation is with Dr Pranita O Somani, Consultant Fertility Specialist, who reviews your full history before recommending anything.
She personally performs the oocyte pick-up, the embryo transfer and the frozen embryo transfer.
Our embryology work is done in house by our own embryology team. Samples are handled at this centre, by the people who work here.

Consultation

Your monitoring scans during treatment are included in your package.

Performed by Dr Pranita O Somani.
Sperm preparation
Sperm washing and preparation is included. It is not charged separately.
ICSI
Fertilisation in our own laboratory, by our own embryology team.
Embryo fertilisation and culture
Embryo transfer
Performed by Dr Pranita O Somani. Ultrasound guided embryo transfer is included and is not charged separately.
An IVF cycle takes two to three months from start to finish. It can take longer depending on your case.
The egg retrieval takes a few hours at the centre, and you go home the same day.
Surplus embryos may be frozen, subject to clinical suitability and our storage policy.
Your own eggs, your husband's own sperm
IVF with ICSI at Angels uses only the couple's own eggs and the husband's own sperm.

The chances depend on the clinical scenario. No number can be stated. Only once the evaluation is done, based on the reports, we can give the patient a clearer picture.
What your treatment will cost
After you see the doctor, you meet our advisor, who explains the treatment and the full cost before you decide anything. We will tell you what your treatment will cost before you begin it.
Nobody will rush you. You will have the time to ask every question you have.
Your first consultation at Angels is free, and so is your first scan. It applies once, to your first visit to the centre, whatever brings you here, including a second opinion on treatment you have had elsewhere.
If you have had IVF somewhere else
One cycle that did not work does not mean the end of the road. It may mean the plan was not the right one. We read your previous reports before we form a view.

We investigate both partners from the first visit
Fertility is not only a woman's question. At Angels we investigate both partners from the first visit. Semen analysis is the primary investigation and it is performed at the first visit, by our own embryology team.
